our story & mission

JenTex Training & Consulting was established in 2013 as a professional development and continuing education firm in health and human services. We believe that clinical training should be as dynamic, engaging, and purposeful as the work health and human service professionals do every day. To date, JenTex has proudly trained over 20,000 professionals throughout the world.

While we deliver a broad range of innovative learning experiences, we are specifically driven to close the gap in family CareGiver mental health. Up to 70% of America’s 63 million family CareGivers experience mental distress, yet specialized clinical training to support them is dangerously lacking. JenTex bridges this public health gap by equipping practitioners and healthcare organizations with the specialized skills required to deliver true mental health equity and advocacy.

Pioneering a Movement: Reimagining Resilience

On March 29, 2025, JenTex created, produced, and launched Reimagining Resilience: The CareGiver Mental Health Symposium in New York. As the region's first-ever daylong continuing education event dedicated entirely to this crisis, the symposium brought together over 100 mental health and healthcare professionals ready to establish a new global standard for CareGiver care.

About our founder

dawn e. shedrick, lcsw

Hello there. I am a licensed clinical social worker, consultant, educator, and trainer with expertise in mental health, CareGiver wellness, organization development, adult education, eLearning, and curriculum design. Drawing from three decades as a primary CareGiver for my mother and extensive experience in community care networks, I integrate deep practical knowledge with clinical expertise. My CareGiver story and insights have been featured on major national media platforms, including NPR, AARP, and Next Avenue.

In addition to leading JenTex, I am the founder of The CareGivers Clique, a dynamic digital platform that provides vital tools, resources, and a supportive community explicitly for burned-out family caregivers. I also shape national caregiving care and advocacy standards as the Board Chair of the Caregiver Action Network (CAN) and serve as a Caring Across Generations Care Fellow alum. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Teachers College-Columbia University, studying Adult Learning and Leadership
